I use to never mind when my kids got sick because it always went away quick and they recovered fast. However twice in the last year 2 of my kids have suffered from fever seizures so I developed pretty bad anxiety whenever my kids would get a fever. I have found the one thing that helps with my anxiety and peace of mind is having a good thermometer. When my kids got their seizures, there fever had just gotten so high and I didn’t notice. Now when they get sick I check their fever often and when it gets too high, I can take action.
I know fever is just your body fighting off the bad germs but to me it’s an indication that I need to pay attention closely to my kids and decide the course of action.
As you can seen I have invested quite a few of these thermometors and every single one has failed me except the Exergen Smart Glow Temporal scanner. I feel it’s the most accurate one on the market for consumers. And not only that it is so fast but I can even take the kids’ temperactures while they are sleeping and they don’t wake up!
I love this thermometer so much I went out and bought another one for my mom’s house so when my kids visit, she can have one too.
The TemporalScanner™ comes with four ways to make it even easier to take a temperature:
- A softly illuminated display for easy reading in any light – perfect for checking the temperature of a sleeping infant in a darkened room
- Beeping sound indicating scanning can be turned off or on to avoid waking a sleeping child
- Automatically retains the last eight temperature readings for instant recall to check on fever progression
- Ability to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius modes
Just recently this came in so handy because my sister and her kids came to visit us for a week and my middle child came down with the flu! It was awful and we didn’t want to bring the sick kid around all the well kids and infect everyone so we decided to quarantine him until he didn’t have fever for 24 hours. It was so easy to keep track of what his last temps were right on this thermometer. And once we was fever free for 24 hours, we got to join back up with the cousins and guess what…no one else got sick!
Thankfully not very many kids will get seizures with fever but this thermometer can give any parent peace of mind when anyone in their family is sick.
Sold in major retailers including Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Costco, Babies “R” Us, Toys “R” Us, Kroger and BJ’s, the Smart Glow thermometer’s suggested retail price is $49.99. The extra one I bought was at Costco so if you have a Costco nearby, you can check there as well.
