If you live in Denver I know you have heard we are on bloom watch for the Corpse Flower at the Denver Botanic Gardens.

This particular plant’s first bloom occurs after 8-20 years of vegetative growth, and get this, it can takes as long as 7-10 years for a second bloom. This is the first corpse flower bloom in the Gardens’ and Rocky Mountain Region’s history so this is a big event folks!

This is also a big deal because when this plant blooms it gives off an incredibly horrible smell, like the smell of rotting meat but it only blooms for less than 48 hours so you need to get to the Denver Botanic Gardens TODAY to witness this event!

The hours for this special event are: Wednesday, August 19: 9 a.m. – midnight | Thursday, August 20: 6 a.m. – midnight | Friday, August 21:  regular 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. hours resume.

The Denver Botanic Gardens are located at , 1007 York Street, Denver. The plant is in the Orangery greenhouse near the Marnie’s Pavilion door.

You do NOT want to miss this! Let me know if you go!
