My mom has gorgeous skin…in fact most people think she is my sister and she said the key to having good looking skin when you’re older is to take care of it when you are young. I am 32 and she said if I start taking care of my skin now, it will be even better than hers! So I have been on the lookout for some good products for not only my skin but my hair and I am in love with Mother Dirt. It is a line of hair and body care products that helps maintain a balanced microbiome on your skin. It hydrates your skin, balances the production of oil, and helps improve body odors and the look of your skin! They include good bacteria which is great for our skin.

I want the best products to be in my home and with the Mother Dirt line of products, I feel like it is a healthy solution. We are trained that sterility equals clean but that is not the case. You want to foster the good bacteria on your skin, not get rid of it! Their shampoo is fantastic, the moisturizer is heavenly, the cleanser makes me feel actually clean, and the AO+ Mist is amazing. I love using these products because I feel like they are nurturing my skin.

Below I made a super easy DIY bug repellent candle to further my journey to replacing toxic items in my home with all natural ones. Check it out!

Supplies needed:

  • 1 mason jar
  • 1 package organic rosemary
  • 1 organic lemon
  • 2 organic limes
  • 10 drops organic eucalyptus oil
  • Water to fill the mason jar

First fill the mason  jar ¾ full with water.

Next cut the lemon into slices and place in water.

Next cut up the lime into slices and place it in the jar.

Then place the 4-5 sprigs of rosemary in the jar.

Next drop 10 drops of eucalyptus oil into the jar.

Lastly place a tea light on top of everything and light!
