I could make this post into a 10 part post because there is so much to talk about when it comes to The Great Wolf Lodge. There is so much to do, eat and experience, if you have ANY questions please ask in the comments below and I would happy to answer them.

great wolf lodge

When we moved to Colorado I was sure there was a Great Wolf Lodge within driving distance since we lived in a big city but I was shocked when I couldn’t find one. Well thank goodness they opened one in Colorado Springs, CO this year and it’s my new favorite place to hang out. It’s one of the most family friendly and fun resorts we have ever stayed at!

It’s hard to entertain 4 kids and find something that all of the kids can enjoy together and The Great Wolf Lodge has perfected this issue. We had non stop family fun and I could not ask for anything more from a vacation. They have thought about all age groups of kids so it truly is family friendly.

The Food:

The food at the Great Wolf Lodge is something you don’t want to miss. They have so many options and you literally never have to leave the resort food-wise. The first night we were tired and hungry and my husband went and grabbed a pizza from Hungry as a Wolf. It fed our whole family and then some. We even had some to snack on the next day and it was so yummy.

This was at the Loose Moose family kitchen below! It’s a buffet type place to eat that is open for breakfast and dinner. The food was amazing and I couldn’t believe they carved this watermelon to look like a flower. It was a fast option to eat since it was buffet style and has something for even my pickiest eater.

My favorite place to eat was called Barnwood. It’s open for lunch and dinner and has small, shareable plates and craft cocktails set in a rustic setting. The Braised Wagyu Meatballs were something I would even come back for even if I wasn’t staying at the hotel.

But they also have a Duncan Donuts, Ben and Jerry’s, Buckets Incredible Craveables which is in the water park and you MUST try the mac n’ cheese burger, The Water Hole which is a place for adults to get drinks in the water park and The Outpost which is a place in the adventure park where you can get a drink while watching the kids in the park.

The most amazing this about The Great Wolf Lodge is the pride they take in making not only good tasting but good for you and the attention they put on allergy awareness is second to none to any hotel I have ever visited. My son has  food allergies and if you are a mom of kid allergies you know how important this is. This was taken from their website:

ALLERGY AWARENESS: At Great Wolf Lodge, all our culinary teams are well versed in common food allergies and dietary restrictions. We are more than happy to accommodate your needs, and we encourage you to speak to your chef, so your meal can be prepared safely from the very beginning. Great Wolf Lodge does not use or serve peanut or tree nut products, but some of our products may be manufactured in facilities that also process nuts. If you’d like to discuss your dietary needs before your stay, please email us at food.colorado-springs@greatwolf.com.”

We met the head of their culinary team and he took his through how they have evolved food wise as a resort and where they are now. He said they don’t like to make anything that has more than 5 ingredients. Lots of the food at the Colorado resort is sourced locally whenever possible. They even made their chicken tenders gluten-free and they were delicious! I was extremely impressed with their culinary team and vision.

They made us a sit down lunch to talk about their food as a whole and it was some of the best food I have ever eaten. And how can you beat this view?!

Things to do:

MagiQuest is simply amazing. It’s an interactive game where your kid is the star. It’s geared towards older kids and my 9-year-old loved it. It takes about 3 hours to complete the whole game and it will have you running around the whole resort.

Adventure park: You can spend a whole day in the adventure park! There is mini golf, a ropes course, gem mining, a creation station where you can build your own Great Wolf Lodge stuffed animals and a climbing wall. And at the creation station you can bring your stuffy to life with the Clubhouse crew game. It’s a game your little one can play in under 30 minutes so if you have older kids playing MagiQuest, the littles have the clubhouse crew!

And you do not want to miss the candy store!

I definitely did not take enough pictures of the Water Park because we were having too much fun. The water park admission is included in your stay and we could have stayed there from open till close. The lifeguard crew is incredible and I felt safe with my kids in the park the whole time. There is so many areas to play and includes fun for all ages. The bigger slides were so fun some of them even scared me so I think it would be fun for kids that are older. Then they have a wave pool that all 4 of my kids loved, an area just for younger kids, pools galore and so much more.
