If you have followed my blog for a while you know we adopted a dog 2 years ago only to have to give him away because my son was severely allergic to him. It was devastating for the whole family. So after allergy shots, lots of research and lots of prayers we added two hypoallergenic dogs to our family. Since we are over the moon for these dogs, we want to treat them to the best food. We want to feed our dogs like family and keep them healthy at the same time. We love CESAR® dog food and now they not only offer wet dog food but now they offer dry dog food as well.
I am so excited because CESAR® DRY dog food has just launched at Walmart! It’s the CESAR® food you love with new dry Meat-First Recipes. To celebrate I decided to give my dogs room a makeover. They stay in the basement and it’s so boring down there so I spruced up my dogs space for under $50! So I went shopping at Walmart for all my supplies.
First I found the CESAR® Dry Filet Mignon with spring vegetables, 12lb as well as the CESAR® Pate Mixed Variety Pack, 24 ct. I found both in the dog food aisle. Keep a look out for bogo coupons right on the package because I bought one mixed variety pack and got one free! So go ahead and stock up because mealtime is just as important for your dog as for you.
First I wanted a reclaimed wood wall so I went to my dads and grabbed some wood out of his burn pile and used it for this project so it was free to me! You can also use pallet wood for this and you can get them free at lots of businesses.
This task took the longest but it took me an hour tops. The tough thing about my project is the wall had 3 outlets and 2 other weird speakers I had to work around. If you find a wall that doesn’t have that much going on, it will be a lot easier.
The only power tools I used for this was a hand saw to cut out the boards and a good ole hammer and nail. I put around 2 nails per board. Check out the video below to see exactly how I did it.
I am in LOVE with the giant mason jars I got for this project at Walmart. I spent around $26 for all 4 of them. And what about the giant pictures of our dogs?! So all you have to do is print about a 4×6 print of your pooch. Take it to your local office supply store and ask for an “engineer print”. It’s a 24×36 black and white print for under $4 each! I hot glued some clothespins to the wall and hung the pictures. If your pictures try to curl up, just put a little hot glue on the corners.
Lastly was the reclaimed wood shelves. I found these in my husbands garage and all I had to do was buy the brackets and screw them into the wall. Everything else I had on hand including the rug that was in my kids room. All in all this project took me about half a day to complete and I am in love with their new space!
I know we love to spoil our dogs like everyone else so using the dry and wet dog food as different meal options is the ticket for our family. To keep up with CESAR® follow them on social media:
