There isn’t anything more refreshing than a cold drink on a hot summer day so I decided to share my favorite drink recipe with you! It’s so easy to make and everyone will love it. It’s a tough day when the biggest decision you have to make is whether to use Pepsi Wild Cherry Real Sugar or Pepsi Vanilla Real Sugar. I went with the Pepsi Wild Cherry Real Sugar for this recipe but either will work. In fact pick up a 8pack of both and let your friends decide which one to use for their “Dirty Pepsi”.
You can whip up this recipe in seconds! What you can do is make a batch ahead of time, minus the heavy cream and when your friends arrive to your Summer party, you can pour in the heavy cream.
When you’re gathering up everything you need for your Memorial Day bash to welcome in summer, head over to Walmart like I did to get what you need for the party. To get your Pepsi, just head to the soda aisle. You can purchase the regular Pepsi or look for a special section with the Pepsi Real Sugar. Then for your chips, head over to the chip aisle and grab your favorite Lay’s.
Check out how easy this recipe is! First put 1 teaspoon of lime juice in the bottom of a glass.
Next add 1 teaspoon of caramel flavor.
Then add your Pepsi Wild Cherry Real sugar on top.
When you are ready to serve, add a splash of heavy cream and enjoy!
Next on the menu is Chocolate Covered Chips. These will make any Memorial Day festive with the addition of red, white and blue sprinkles.
You can whip up these Summer Time Savers in a jiffy! First you will need a bag of Lay’s Wavy Original flavor chips and some chocolate almond bark.
Microwave the almond bark according to the package. When it is melted, dip one end of the chips in the chocolate and set them on a baking sheet that is covered in wax paper. Then sprinkle with red, white and blue sprinkles.
These took me maybe 5 minutes to make and trust me when I say, you will not be able to lay off of them. The sweet of the chocolate and salty of the chips are the perfect snack food at any summertime bash.
So when your Memorial day party rolls around, try out these fun and easy recipes for all your friends. With the refreshing taste of pepsi and the savory sweet of these chips, people will be asking for more. You shouldn’t have to slave all day in the kitchen when you have a party to plan so try out these Summer Time Saver recipes… you will not regret it.
*I received free samples to facilitate this recipe but all opinions are my own.
Everyday my husband comes home, he always wants something sweet. I love baking and making yummy things but we are also trying to eat healthier so I am on a constant search for yummy and satisfying healthy sweets. This does have some butter in it so eat one or two them freeze the rest. Plus I used some brand new delicious bare cocoa dusted crunchy banana chips. They added a nice crunch to this recipe. They also come in a cinnamon flavor and I think either would work well with this recipe.
Go here for more info on bare snacks. And just know these are baked, and not fried, gluten free, non GMO, fat free and no sugar added.
Press into a 8X8 pan. I lined mine with parchment paper but you can grease it. It’s just easier to use parchment paper if you are trying to take the bars out of the pan.
Spread strawberry preserves on top.
Process your whole bag of banana chips in a food processor.
Put a layer of the banana chips on top.
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until top is golden brown. Let completely cool before you cut them. Enjoy!

My kids LOVE the Minions movie! They have been asking for it for Christmas and what they don’t know is that it is wrapped and sitting under the tree. What we normally do each Christmas Eve is that I give them new pj’s, we make hot chocolate and I give them a new DVD to watch before Santa Claus comes to our house. It’s a fun tradition and a good way to wind the kids down before the excitement of Christmas!
Plus the DVD was released on 12/8/15 so go and get it before everyone else in town does.
They year I decided to make a fun recipe that you can make with your family while watching the Minions © 2015 Universal Studios. All rights reserved this holiday season. This is one of my absolute favorite desserts and when you try it you will understand why! I got this recipe from Mrs. Kay Robertson from Duck Dynasty. She would make this for special occasions or for church potlucks and I am not kidding when I say it would be gone in a matter of seconds…it’s that good!
First go to the Minions website to see where you can purchase a copy of the Blu Ray/DVD combo set.
This recipe is seriously delcious but it is time consuming but I promise it will be worth it. Since you have to stir it for around 30 minutes, I actually turned on Youtube to a easy walking working so I got in my exercise while making this.
First get a double boiler but if you don’t have one like me, you can use 2 saucepans at similar sizes. Fill the bottom one with water and put the other one on top. Turn on the heat high enough to get the water to boil.
Place your 2 sticks of butter in the top one and let them melt.
Whisk in the sugar, flour, and salt.
Next whisk in both milks. Now is where your patience comes in. You will need to whisk this for 30-40 minutes or until the mixture starts to get thick.
Next add a small amount of the mixture to your 6 egg yolks. You want to heat up the eggs without scrambling them. Then add the yolks to the mixture and cook until the pudding is so thick it doesn’t drip off your spoon.
Now add vanilla wafers to the bottom of your dish, and pour on some of the pudding. Next add some bananas. Then do another layer.
To assemble your minion, first cut up 1 strawberry fruit strip into 2 strips. Lay in the middle of the dish. Add a chocolate cookie that you have taken apart with a candy eye in the middle and do that for 2 eyes!
This is a different kind of banana pudding because you serve it warm.
Will the Minions movie from Illumination Entertainment be under your tree this Christmas?
Don’t these cookies look to delicious to eat? When I first saw them I thought I bet they are pretty but how good do they really taste?? Hmmm so good I can’t make them very often or I will gobble all of them up! The cookies almost taste like a shortbread cookie and you have the option of spreading jelly or nutella in the middle and boy does that take these to another level.
I made these for my kids first day of school for their teachers and I think they would be great for baby or wedding showers or any special occasion.
I am not going to do a step by step recipe since if you have made cookies before, these should be easy. Below are the directions then head down a little bit farther for a few tips on making these.
This was my cookie decorating station. I made the cookies, then let them cool. Divide the milk up like explained in the recipe above then tint your milk yellow and pink. Don’t add to much red or it will be red and not pink. Paint some yellow and pink on each cookie then dip in sugar. Try to use as less of the tinted milk as you can or you will have soggy cookies.
Now for the fun part! Half of the cookies we filled with strawberry jelly (or you can use peach but I didn’t have any on hand) and half we filled with nutella. Both were yummy and we couldn’t decide which was better. Once you have painted and sugared the cookies, spread either jelly or nutella on one inside of a cookie and smash together with another. Put a mint leaf in for show and you are done!
I didn’t eat the mint leaves in mine, I just used them for decorating.

How cute is this??! This would be perfect for your Halloween or Fall parties coming up and it’s the simplest thing to make. Every year it seems I spread myself a little too thin when it comes to costumes, parties and making yummy treats. So this year I want to go simple and easy. While at the same time make things the kids will beg to eat. And that is actually what these Graveyard ready-to-eat puddings are. These Hershey’s Ready to Eat Pudding are amazing on their own. I put a fun Halloween twist on them so they are not only yummy but look good on your table!
Or this could be a fun afternoon snack. Since they are so easy to put together, you can make them while the kids are at school, put them in the fridge to have a fun and spooky treat ready for them when they get home.
First you will need to pick up some Hershey’s Ready to Eat Pudding. They have a chocolate flavor as well as a s’mores flavor. Save yourself another trip to Walmart and buy extra because when it’s all said and done I bought 3 packages of these because my kids kept eating them!
I was looking everywhere for these puddings and it turns out they are in the refrigerator section. I found them near the yogurt section. So look there when you are shopping at Walmart. They have another pudding section normally in the baking section but these are not there.
And how easy is this? While you’re at the checkout, scoop up the latest ALL YOU magazine because it has a coupon to score $.55/1 of your Pudding 4 pack. Plus they have lots of recipes and fun tips. I have read mine so many times, it’s falling apart at the seams.
To make these Graveyard Pudding Cups, first you need some graham crackers. Put about half a package in a food processor and pulse until the consistency of sand. I used this amount for making 5 pudding cups. So use more if you are going to be making more cups.
This is what it should look like once you process it.
Next get your Halloween-themed marshmallows and poke toothpicks in them.
Cover the tops of the pudding cups with the graham crackers.
Then place the marshmallows in the top and you can add a little candy pumpkin for good measure.
For the backdrop for my picture, I found this cute Halloween scene at WalMart in the Halloween section. It was actually pretty easy to put on the wall. When some pieces wouldn’t cooperate, I let them stick out from the wall a little and it gives it an almost 3-D effect.
Then you can sprinkle the little pumpkins out all over your table. I let the kids grab a few at the party before it’s time to eat the pudding cups.
And don’t forget to check out Kraft.com for more yummy recipes! Let me know which one is your favorite.
